Our approach to social outreach:

All projects of EST promote a practical approach to social outreach.

In the local community, this starts with young adults collaborating with other agencies, such as rest homes, refugee and disability bodies, to undertake practical welfare work.

Further afield, EST has acquired experience in organising voluntary service projects to communities locally and in the Pacific. The early service projects date back to 1990.

The aims of the service projects are threefold:

  • to provide welfare or developmental assistance to a community in need

  • to contribute to a team-based project, and

  • to learn about a different cultural heritage.

Service projects are typically 1 to 3 weeks in duration and require volunteers to pay their own way, as well as raise funds for the project.
